Rookie Matt Joyce put up his fourth homer on the season and that was the difference in the 3-2 Tiger win. Armando Gallaraga had a strong game on the mound, picking up the win and helping the Tigers snap a five-game slump. Alfonso Soriano went deep twice but it still wasn’t enough as the Cubs got edged by Pittsburgh 7-6 on Saturday. The Pirates snapped a 10-game losing streak against the Cubs.
